Wow its pouring , the whole island and most of the state is getting pounded by a huge rain storm, Its was totally windy all day and about 4p the lightning and thunder came on with a huge wall of rain off the water marching in from the sea. It was raining so hard it was only possible to see 5 or 10 feet in front of the truck. Huge wind waves are being blown in with so much wind and rain , walls of white water is that can be seen from the shore. I tried to film but it was so hard to drive dodging falling branches and flying Palm fronds that I gave up. later on the way up the hill I got a little footage but nothing like it was by the ocean. The mayor has declared a state of emergency for the island as we are in for a night of heavy rain. The power had gone out for a little while and the internet is back up so Ill post this fast before the power and/or the internet connection goes down. Its very exciting, it’s a little crazy but I do love to drive in heavy weather, there’s just something about being dry and safe while traveling thru such wild wind and rain. The top of Mauna Kea has a foot of snow and 70 mph wlnds going maybe by the week end we can cruise on up there and see some snow , pack some snow balls in the cooler ,do a little sliding around then shoot down to the ocean for a warm swim and snow ball fight on the beach. The big island is one of the few places you can do that.

A simple dinner of black beans and rice with some sliced tomatoes and salad, and of course a latte after the wet wild drive.
