The moon is a curving flower of gold,
The sky is still and blue;
The moon was made for the sky to hold,
And I for you.
The moon is a flower without a stem,
The sky is luminous;
Eternity was made for them,
To-night for us.

Out on the deck tonight , the Whales are sounding down on the coast. Load splashing and slapping can also be heard from the same direction . Going to try and record the sounds once everyone is asleep with out any other sounds , like tv and things , they are really load and the camera is ready . Its to dark to see anything but I want to try for the sounds with out any back ground noise. They are really going off , I wish that there wasn’t a lot of noise right now . The sound can’t be heard always down by the water though at night the sound travels up the slope and can be heard quite clearly . Man they are really loud right now.
Chris will help edit any lags in the recording so there won’t be any gaps lets cross our fingers .
There is a giant bat moth buzzing me right now I have to protect my hot chocolate from it . It’s the size of a small bat and very annoying .
We are getting bad around here , now Chris likes to keep skype open so that we can have the web cam on when we are just in different parts of the house . So I have his smiling face in the corner
OK going to try for this recording, see the new poem and art work

The swell has finally let up , two nights ago just got down for the last of the swell and could not find my trunks or rash guard , they are always in the truck ready to go . They do get strapped on with the surf board to dry out and the thought was that they blew off . It was a bummer all ready to go out for a sunset surf and no trunks . Then there they were , on the side of the road in the bushes , I just happened to notice them when driving by and retrieved them safe and sound .
It,s been a nice and bright full moon and just a little chilly in the evenings , just right for a long sleeve shirt and the tiki torches . The deck is really nice right now , crickets and chirps , not many whale sounds yet . They are out there , must be hanging out some where else.
Starting to plant a herb garden in the front of the house with the cactus as a back ground. have had this rusty piece of old train track that I found by the Captain Cook Monument many years ago from when there was a rail road and a small town there. I used it as a border for the basil and a old farm wheel and some other old things that have been found here and there to be grown over and thru by the oregano and thyme . I want to find some more Chocolate mint to plant around. Had some a few years ago and really liked it . Has just a light chocolate taste with the mint .
They are are all placed in the lava rocks and cactus that I have planted.
Time to make one more little Latte and goof off a little,

Like barley bending
In low fields by the sea,
Singing in hard wind
Ceaselessly;
Like barley bending
And rising again,
So would I, unbroken,
Rise from pain;
So would I softly,
Day long, night long,
Change my sorrow
Into song.

Spent the day listening to my ipod and doing a little work. One of my favorite podcasts ,Democracy Now , played two of MLK ,s speeches . Its a great podcast if you have the time , since I spend the day outdoors , it,s nice to have several podcasts and music to listen to. There are some short funny podcats like the onion radio news and some fun ones like Quirks & Quarks , a little fun science .
The weather is great , the waves have dropped down , still plenty to ride without the pounding .
There has been some vog in so the sunsets are standard , there is some surface flows of lava down by the old royal gardens subdivision. The horizon has been very hazy from the extra smoke. Royal gardens many years ago was cut off by the lava and has been largely uninhabited since. Many of the houses were covered by lava flows and only two or three have been lived in since . Its not a easy place to get to for many years there wasn’t even a road left.
I have a new daily poem , not by me , on stevejones420.com and of course my strange art .
Still over 80 in the day and as low as 61 at night here on the deck .
Happiness and Joy, Steve
