Report from South Kona

Listen , the first car did make it two days , the boys even had a go at it on a cruise up to the mail box. They sat in front of me and we kept it slow with me ready to correct any steering problems that may occur . I had a feeling this little car wasn’t going to last long , by Sunday it wouldn’t run more than a few seconds and ended up just sitting all day. Later it started right up and ran but tended to turn it self off as you drove along. Now this is a little rental place ran by like just one guy. So I saved its last trip for Monday to switch it for a different one. He was just leaving for a few days and would be in for just a hour , got over there in 15 minutes he is gone . Then standing there , my neighbor from home pulls up and i end up watching the baby in the car for a minute , and then the car rental guy wheels in and goes here use this one , I’m off to Honolulu for a eye operation I’ll be back on Wed. Off he jets in the car I just brought back and wisk I’m relieved of my baby watching duty and I have another car , a little more funky looking but runs better. Back I go to get all my stuff, now I didn’t want to pull in the rent a car place with all my poles hanging out the windows , big hoses stuffed in the trunk , and buckets all over the back seat. . So it was all hanging out at one of my stops . Loaded all up off to the next house got out and saw that the tire was almost flat. Called the place and just the machine ,he was gone, unloaded again ran up and got some air . It didn’t last long , shoot now I’m changing the tire one the side of the Hwy , one of those little baby spares ( really do not like those little spares , no the truth is I hate them ) now I’m going to be taking this car in for a tire repair and just by chance stop at the rental agency just to see if by chance some one was there , no luck , but I did get an idea . Here there were several of these same type of cars , so I got out my jack and pulled a tire off one of those cars and put my flat one on it . Then up went my rental and I put the good tire on it and put that little spare back in my trunk just in case . Murphys law has been in full swing and reason to push it. Off I went , got a giant Peach Pleasure jamba juice , made five more stops , checked the waves, it was flat , and cruised home with oddly no traffic and just breezed right along. Wiped in the driveway made a couple of lattes , we had chicken sandwiches , and corn chips with some sliced bananas . Watched a little classic Doctor Who DVD and that is what i did today. Everything always works out perfect in the end.
