Report from South Kona

There’s rosemary,
that’s for remembrance.

Yesterday Morning i was on a small panel at the boys school judging the Real World program that they do there. Each kid in the 7th grade gets a pretend life with random situations . Like high school drop out with three kids and various situations that may occur in life . Then they need to find a job out of the want ads , find a place to live and a car. First they figure out how much they will make and deduct the taxes , pay the rent , pay the car payment with insurance and gas , budget food costs all that stuff . Then they get wrenches ( like the monkey kind ) like car wrecks or hospital stays, paternity suits and so on. Then in small groups they give a presentation on each of the life situations they receive . Some are married with kids , single parents with kids , all found out that its impossible to live without at least two jobs on minimum wage. If even then !

Afterward off to work , stopping off at Jamba juice for a peach pleasure ( my favorite ) , coming out and ready to blaze off and get some things done , low and behold my car wouldn’t start . No juice What a bummer , the easy solution the battery went dead , so off I trudge across the road to walmart ( I hate to shop there , just see all the little kids slaving away in dark little factories.) None to fit my truck in stock. Next down the road and across town to Kmart , none there in my size, back to my truck and then thru the vacant land over to the auto parts store that was not that far away( should have went there first) and they had just one left in my size. Luck was with me when it went in the truck started up and off I went . Still managed to get a lot done and wasn’t getting towed and renting a car again to get home . Ya i wasn’t stranded .

Now off for a Saturday of work , a little motor replacement on a pump at one pool and a big filter install, well here I go no waves for after work , the board is ready on the racks just in case. :0.
