Beans
The weather isn’t nice today , voggy and and way over cast , the temp a cool 74.8 and just a simple breeze blowing in . A good time for the deck and lattes and a soak oƒ some pinto beans . Watched some of the Olympics this morning a little swimming , some rowing and a bicycle race then hard to go in for a bit of work , that I did just a little of and saved the rest for Monday , then home for a little more swimming action and now out on the deck emailing and having a latte . In just a bit the beans will have soaked enough and they can be set to cook. Not sure how they will get spiced yet , though thinking about a veggie pot this time . There is some Portuguese sausage that could be used , it’s a spicy one from one of the fund raisers . Some stuff as far as spices are in the garden , add a mish mash of this and that see how they come out. maybe some BBQ chicken it’s a bit cool so a little Saturday night cook out could be fun before some more Olympics action.

The boys have vegged all day at their computers Chis on teen second life and Kyle gaming away on his machine . Got two little pans today for camping that will fit in my camp oven , they are for filling with water and setting on the bottom to diffuse the heat some to keep things from getting a little black bottomed. We really need a camp out haven,t been all summer , it time to ramble and roll somewhere . All the gear is ready just to be loaded and we have our new sierra cups that the boys got for their birthday back in june . OK I did order one for my self at the same time . Haven’t had one in many years they are very good for back packing and almost anything in a small portion can be cooked in them . Our will be mostly for lattes and hot chocolate with maybe some chili here or there. They are good for sitting next to the fire and keeping your drink warm in the cool night air of volcano. This year since w ehave done so much volcano camping we may do a couple of beach camps , we haven’t done one in a long while now.
