Report from South Kona

CD Time
Blasting my new Bunny Wailer CD that came in the mail a few days ago , piped up on 3 or so lattes , watching a hazy sunset . So far I have a nice flow going this week ,on schedule not slipping behind as I some times do . Since I haven’t been surfing and my arm is doing ok still stiff and I have about three visits left to the therapist . Though if I start to paddle around it will loosen up and get back in shape again. There sure haven’t been any waves anyhow it been flat as can be all those stand up paddle boarders have been out . They shouldn’t but they bug me , but they do , It’s been done in waikiki for many years on the rollers there so isn’t something new . Just starting to become a fade , they can hog up the waves since they can start way out and catch the wave so early . They can’t turn very well , not always making the turn well anyway , it’s really a style for long rolling waves that cruise along for a long way . Our waves here tend to come up on a Lava rock reef and jump up quick lifting reef fish and all with them. There is a couple of outer point breaks , by and large though its semi steep breaks over reef . Anyway I’m babbling on , it must be the south Kona Kind .

You can download for free the new movie SlackerUprising as I did . It reminded me of how close we came to getting that idiot out of power , I refuse even to say the name in fear of the evil it may provoke , this time we must not have mcsame the clone of the one who has made it all go wrong . Make sure that your registration is in order ahead of time there has been many tricks in several state to remove voters from the rolls , just be aware . Everything is so , well all f.d up all over the place , we just can’t pretend anymore the world is too small today not to think in a much bigger picture of a planet and one people . What a load of crap we have been handed these last 8 years .

So it begins , my 9.0 slick is back on my truck . It’s my most surfed board and has been sitting next to the house on my deck for the last few months while I couldn’t paddle . I still am having some trouble with my arm and shoulder , it’s still stiff and needs some stretching . There is three more paid visits to the physical therapist , after that I would need a new diagnosis to get some more . Even though there is little or no surf these days a little paddle could help loosen things up .

The Mayors race is now a run off between K Angel Pilago and Kenoi , who is backed by lots of money from Oahu and has a million signs out . K Angel is a local boy and not my first choice but sooo much better than the other guy . We will see what happens in Nov. With all the tricks going on around the whole country , to get as many people off the voting roles as possible . I hope that any of us gets to vote and have that vote counted .

There has been some rain at night , but for a tropical Island we have had very little heavy weather this summer . Just all the vog and Volcanic action and a little mini earth quake this weekend .

This morning was spent out on the deck with my new book , enjoying the breezes along with the fresh sunshine . Just one or two coffees and a few birds that came by for a bit out of the cats bowel. Putting it off for a while we finally trimmed the tall hedge between our house and the one next door . We got it just at the roof of the other house so it can fill in some and grow some new lower branches . Tripping up to the garage roof with the clippers some gloves and the long trimming saw . Chris and I cleaned out the gutters of a bunch of crap and many little seed sprouts that had accumulated there . Kyle hacked some small lower branches then the big long saw came out and we ripped thru a couple of big branches that pummeled to the ground . That was something productive for the day , then back to some more reading and a little mario cart on the wii . Just a mellow sunday with pancakes for dinner .

Here I am back again all caught up with the return of my computer . Off to vote today for the mayor and some state races . There wasn’t many good choices for mayor everyone was running this time , ended up with K Angel Pilago , perhaps he can do the least damage . Most of the others all are buddies of land developers and not too trust worthy . The guys came along like at least one of them does every time to vote , there wasn’t a line and it very and mellow and easy to vote . I never , never use the touch screens they are just so simple to hack , the paper ballot is the way I always go , then it is placed in the machine for counting . That way there is a record of the vote just in case of any questions .

After voting , that was done at the boys school , we hit the book store for a new book that just came out for Kyle , one of those dragon books he likes . Finding a book by Martin Millar , Lonely Werewolf Girl , that looked good so I got that one for myself. We browsed around the store and Chris got himself some jelly beans , 7 up ones and Dr pepper flavored . Better than all the weird bacon and bugger flavored ones he got last time . lol Then we made a little pit stop at a a place for some mocha frapachinos and lattes for a little pick me up . Before adventuring down to old airport park to fly the kites at the ball field there . It’s part of the park where the farm fair was held .

The rain has been falling since we got home late this afternoon , after it getting pretty dry and the tank skimming bottom . Would have been better if it had rained tomorrow since the liner still needs to be pulled up on one side. After all the blazing hot days this week the rain is a nice cool down . This week has been a cooker hotter than it has been all summer , that shade seeking sun shine .

Still doing the Alfred Hitchcock movies , so far , Rear Window , Psycho , and now North by Northwest. A few others are on Que . Now I can’t remember the ones that we still plan to watch .

Going to try and get the Carnival Vid up tonight , some very exciting Ferris Wheel riding .
