Surreal Week

Call it Vog and it rolled back in full force today after a nice stretch of clear skies . Calm as I have ever seen it the ocean , the water was still as swimming pool with no one in it . The gray and hazy sky , the kind of mid holiday week limbo between Christmas and New Years . I, ve always thought that most things should just stop or slow this week . Everyone just chilling out and doing as they kind of please for the week . LOL . Did do several stops today doing as little as possible at each one . :)

Went to the recycle spot today , woo, the line was longer then I have ever seen it. On the third try the line was down to just a couple of cars a little later in the afternoon . Earlier in the day running clear down to almost the end of the street . Popped over after that for a supply of fireworks for New Years . Hawaii loves it’s fireworks on New years that,s for sure . Before some big babies got many of then banned we could get sky rockets and massive strings of fire crackers . Now there is a similar thing that is pretty much the same thing as a fire cracker but called a crackeler :) . Now we have a nice bag of various explosives and fireworks .

TODAY

Loaded up the truck with all the recycle and trash headed up to the transfer station that,s down the road a bit to drop it all off . Just to make it a little more exciting we grabbed our swim trunks and a couple of towels tossed them in also . After the drop off a stop at Fujihara Store , it’s been there since the early 1900 and is a classic old Hawaiian Store . No shave ice though if you wants some of that you have to stop at Kealea ranch store down the way some. They have the funny red hotdogs that I stay away from but Kyle likes um and the candy in the afternoon is always slightly melted as its kept right in the sun by the door . It’s been kept there for all the time I lived here and long before that . lol  You have to get the secret ones back in the back of the ref. along the back wall . Sunchips , keylime soda , Chris with his blow pops and off we cruised down the road to Hookena Beach . Warm but not too hot on the mixture of white and black sand , the water cool , so pleasant once in for a minute . Calm almost like a lake with just the smallest of waves lapping the shore with its sand castles and sandy bodies . Snorkelers and swimmers here and there , often spinner dolphins too , though none today . Splashed around in the water before sand molding a bit and making our own little pile of sand . With tunnels and a few mounds that were left waiting for the high tide to smooth away .

Cool Saturday

Clear as a bell as the saying goes , not a bit of vog in the sky today . The ocean all sparkly and calm , dark blue , with a puffy cloud breeze. Reluctantly went to work today , amid thoughts of bailing out again . No surf . Just spending the sunset , taking a pic or two and sitting around .

That,s about it , just thinking about what to do tomorrow in this wonderful weather.
