Off on Saturday morning to the road south and destinations wild and fun . Dewey the dog had a nice little setup in back with a boogie board to lay down on as we cruised . Rigged up a little safety line so he couldn’t jump out . Had some of the camp kitchen along strapped down in back behind Dewey . After hitting the road a large truck was hauling some giant round thing that was most likely to become some ones house out in the far reaches of Ocean View . It was a percarious load and they didn’t take advantage of the turn out to let traffic pass . Causing some wild passes by the cars in front of us . LOL After our turn and a long strait away we made it in the clear and made good time stopping at the Bakery in Naalauu . Getting a bit out of control we may have bought too many items . Driving along the wild coast , rising up to Volcano nat. park we hit a thick cloud that had settled down making a fog like condition to drive in , strange and Gothic , just on coming head lights now and again appearing just as they passed out of then gloom . When hitting the 3000 foot elevation we broke threw the upper part and hit some misty sunshine as we stopped at the bird park for a little walk and some Espresso making . Dewey had a nice time in the grass and dirt as we had some coffee and enjoyed the ever changing weather . Misty one minute , sunshine the next .

We didn’t go thru the Park , since we plan to camp next weekend , but made a short drive thru of Volcano village enjoying the lush rain forest and many colorful flowers about the area . Dropping back down from the 4000 foot level we made our way down along the rainy hwy cruising into Hilo . Hit the old down town area and strolling along , hitting the farmers market for a few items of produce . A small little stand had a really good Green Papaya Salad , spicy , even the medium one had a head clearing effect LOL . So good , we ate it standing under a covering as a little rain shower came down . Loaded up our purple sweet potatoes , Sour Sop , Green Beans , Tomatoes , Garlic and large white radishes . We made our way along the Banyan tree lined road and rolled along in the truck back up into Volcano having another little coffee a little dinner in the camp ground . The air cool and brisk before having a open road back up the coast to home .

Ute and I had a great time , though a bit full from all the treats . : )

Peace and Love Abounds

Sunday , awake early with the rain falling and having quiet coffee with Ute . The kids are all gone today , Kyle and Chris will be back for the first week on Monday starting the schedule of one week here . Kaylee is at her new friends for a sleep over , they stayed here on Friday and over at her friends house last night , Saturday . Ute has a broken tooth that happened yesterday and is more painful today , I hope its ok till tomorrow when she will be going to a Dentist to get it looked at . Yes you will Ute !

We were supposed to work on getting my taxes and paper work caught up yesterday but ended up doing this and that instead and going down to pebble beach to check on Kaylee and pick her up . One of the kids she went with turned out to be a little $#!( and not only hurt her feeling but had been throwing rocks at Chris at the bus stop . The boys should have gone instead of that brat . LOL The day turned around , we had a web cam chat with Chris and Kyle then the girls went to the football game at school . Ute and I brought home some Ahi and had a nice plate of Sashimi with some salad to go along . We had been in the hot tub for a while and fell asleep just as we started a movie LOL .

We have started a nice home life , with Ute setting things up , still need some real beds . We have all been on air mattresses , they are ok but we have our eyes out on moving sales for some real ones . Ute is a much better food shopper then me , so we have been having some very nice meals and lots of fun making them .

Well we need to get this paper work out of the way , so that Ute and I can get our plans started , we have some good ones LOL .

The sand was so hot , without shoes or shade , wow hot foot deluxe .

We have been getting more and more in tune with this new life that Ute and I have begun . It is a wonderful new time for us to be together , so nice to be able to spend time together without having a phone glues to our ears . LOL Very busy with getting the kids started in school and getting used to being together . The house is working out good , settling in pretty well , it has enough room for everyone . With Kaylee being a great person and really good for the boys . Chris has been staying with us a lot here at first , Kyle spent the weekend and has not stayed down as much as we all start getting used to the new life style and new family group . We live just 4 streets down so its easy for the boys to travel back and forth . It had been working out pretty good . They are kind of getting to go back and forth as they want . It is a change for everyone , Ute and Kaylee leaving their home of so many years to come and be with me here , starting a new life . Of course it is one of the hottest summers ever so for two Alaska girls it is a big change .

Today after we round up Kaylee from a sleep over with one of her new friends , a trip down to the beach . One that is a little out of the way so Dewey the dog can come along . Chris is getting a major layer of sunscreen after his sunburn and we have a new umbrella for shade . Kaylee also had a bad burn from just a short time in the sun . LOL Its not the same as the tanning booth in Alaska . We have had a couple of busy weekends and did not get a chance to go last weekend . Till we get Ute a car we just have my little truck so its hard to go a lot of places . So at least two people have to ride in back .

Making and having family dinners is very fun , there is a big counter that acts like a dinner table and we can all sit or stand around and eat together . Ute makes dinner some times and I do other times . But as always getting the kids to do chores is hard . Kaylee is the best , painting and keeping her room together . lol

Ute and I are going to start blogging together , that should be fun , hopefully interesting .
