Whale Tails , Over Cast Skies

Hit town on Sunday for misc. adventures . Kyle hit his old haunt from working with me this summer L & L drive in . You don’t drive in , walk in , LOL ( : . He had his old favorite , two Spam Musubi and a cheese burger plate . Chris and I just got fries and then we opted for a Smoothie and Wheat Grass from across the street . We lunched over behind the public pool on the tail gate next to two large grassy areas that happen to be a very good kite flying spot . Gusty winds had been blowing most of the day , just the right amout for the Bone Breaker to fly with injury . lol After the trouble at south point Chris is still dubious about the whole kite thing . He opted for snacking on fries and drinking his Strawberry Surfrider . Kyle and I sent it up and had a good time with a 360 contest . Chris became offical counter , while Kyle and I battled up to 16 spins in and out . The rules being that you have to spin in and back out till the strings do not cross any more . Kyle ended up the record holder with 16 my 17 and 18 tries didn’t make it back out all the way to qualify . LOL

We then planned to swim in this salt water pool on the edge of the ocean , the tide being low and the water calm it didn’t have much water in it and wasn’t looking that great . It’s left over from a long ago house that was there and before there were any rules about the coast line . It fills when the surf is big and the tide is high , when the waves are right sit on the ocean ebd and they will push you into the pool with a big splash . Now after a stop at Ross to get Kyle a supply of shorts , a good day not crowded , we headed back to the public pool . Now every time I have been to this pool some kid has pooped in it , really three times I have been there to swim and each time out after 5 minutes . Poop in the pool . As luck had it they just were closing as we arrived . No swimming but we had fun any way .

Today it was sunny in the morning then turned overcast in the early afternoon , kind of a grey old day . Did all my rounds and hurry got home at 430 . Just 10 miinutes late lol . Had a Latte and my little Vap going watching the colorless evening advance . The ocean broke with a smash and a dive , mist blowing in the air and some huge bodies churning the water in circles . A nice pod of Whales hit the surface putting on a show . Hanging around for several minutes of course by the time you grab the camera no matter how close they dive and travel on . Maybe one of these nights , before they leave , a recording can be made of the big bull at night . It is a wild soound to hear roaring late at night up from the coast .

Peace and love Steve
